We have a deep bench of managers that can take businesses to the next level using their experience from Fortune 500 companies such as Amazon, L’Oreal, General Mills and SalesForce.
Business Type
We are seeking asset-light businesses with a strong track record of profitability.
Details
Business produces profits ranging from $750,000 to $5,000,000 per year.
Has a strong reputation among its customer base.
Lacks strong competitors.
Is unimportant to its customers. The business is a small piece of the customer’s budget and is unlikely to spend significant resources on negotiating.
The company has a track record of enduring profitability. Some examples of businesses that don’t have enduring profitability: tech-driven companies, cyclical businesses (when economy softens, customers can delay using the service), huge competitors in the space, companies with specialized assets.
Slow growth. We are not looking for businesses with recent double digit revenue growth.
Geographic scope:
United States: Northeast (Virginia to New England), Florida, Texas.
International: Mexico, Caribbean, Argentina.
Every organization thinks its data-driven because it looks at numbers. What we find is managers focus on “Output” metrics and not “Input” metrics.
Output metrics are vanity metrics - revenue, customer satisfaction scores, Yelp reviews. If you want to mention them at the Holiday party or in a TechCrunch puff piece - fine with us - but what we care about are the metrics that deliver value to the customer.
“Input” metrics look at the processes that if executed properly will drive customer value. What percent of time are you late delivering your service to your customer? What is your defect rate? What is your cost per hour to deliver the service or product? We implement technology and train our operators to review metrics daily, if not hourly.
Consistent and disciplined focus on the root causes behind input metric misses will ultimately result in improved output metrics.
